■ About AVEST Launch Edition
AVEST Launch Edition, which is now available for reservation, is an electric wheelchair-type personal mobility vehicle that creates its own barrier-free environment and enables stress-free and free movement to anywhere you want to go.
It can ascend and descend stairs and escalators, and can also board trains and buses without assistance, allowing it to travel along the same routes as pedestrians.
In addition to traveling on wheels on level ground, the crawler system allows the wheelchair to travel not only on flat paved roads, but also on uneven terrain.
When traveling over uneven terrain, the center-of-gravity control system ensures that the occupant maintains the same posture at all times, preventing the wheelchair from tipping over and allowing the occupant to operate the wheelchair with a sense of security.
An obstacle sensor enhances safety by creating an anti-collision system similar to that used in automobiles, and a stairway assist system assists in the approach to and from stairs for smooth stairway ascent and descent.
A development and production system is currently under construction with the aim of offering the system in August 2025. Currently, a prototype is being tested for ascending and descending 22 cm steps and stairs, and for the world's first escalator ascending and descending function for an electric wheelchair.
